121 Dental Centre is a family practice which has been in its current location since 1935. We currently have 5 full time Dentists and a Hygienist. Although this list is not exhaustive we offer:
We know that prevention is key. By giving you and your family regular dental advice we can limit interventions and help you take care of your teeth and gums. Although we carry out most dental treatments we also work closely with colleagues who provide Orthodontics, Dental Implants and other specialist treatments.
We are a mixed NHS and Private practice treating both adults and children. With changing treatment options and advancing technology, not all treatment options are available on the NHS.
All options will be discussed and estimated costs given. Please contact reception to register. We will take your details and ask you to fill in a confidential medical questionnaire. If you feel anxious about visiting the dentist please let us know and we will do all that we can to assist you. In all cases where there are charges, we ask that fees are settled on the day of treatment. If you are entitledto a full or partial exemption from charges on the NHS please bring evidence to support this.
Any treatment offered (either NHS or Private) will be estimated, discussed and agreed with you in advance. We ask that this is paid by your last appointment. We accept Debit and credit cards, cheques and cash.
Some of our Dentists offer Denplan for Private patients, helping to spread the cost of private treatment. If this is something you would like to enquire about we have leaflets in the waiting areas or ask your dentist.
NHS charges for common procedures are as follows (guidelines only);
Telephone our reception on 01241 872 060 or call in person to make appointments. We send a reminder every 6 months for your check up, you can choose to have this preferably by email or text message but we can send a letter if needed. Please endeavor to give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you cannot make an appointment. If we haven’t had prior notice and an appointment is missed there will be a charge. The charges vary depending on the length of the appointment, but approximately £1 per minute of lost clinical time.
If you have a dental emergency and its within our opening times, please call reception and you will be given an appointment within a time frame that’s appropriate to your needs. If your emergency is out with our practice hours please call the NHS 24 number which is 111 and advice or treatment will be arranged.
The practice has a number of policies to ensure that we provide the best possible care for our patients.
All patient information is processed in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is treated with the strictest confidence.
For any questions about NHS dental provision in the area please call 01382 425671
We have ground floor facilities which are suitable for wheelchairs users, we also have a ramp available to provide easier access from the pavement into the practice. There is also a toilet on the same floor. We can provide a large print copy of this leaflet by asking at our reception.
We are an English speaking practice but have access to language line should you require it.
The Practice has its own laboratory on site which allows for a speedy and efficient repair service. Chairside co-operation between our expert ceramist and the dentists allows for an additional level of care.
We welcome any feedback from our patients, you can contact us with your views either in person, by post or by email. We hope you are happy with our service, however if you have a complaint please contact our receptionists who will advise you of our complaints procedure.
